Primal Toad Has Done It Again-- If You Could Live on 4 Foods, What Would They Be?

From my favorite shopping list-shortener Primal Toad.

"I am thinking about the foods that I love and putting them into FitDay to see if I can match all of my nutrition requirements.

1. 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef

A wild buffalo would be awesome. I’ll settle with a grass fed cow since I eat it almost daily. I eat ground beef for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I grill hamburgers and simply fry it up with some veggies. I enjoy with eggs and sometimes eat it plain with a few spices. Ground beef is full of vitamins and minerals. It’s abundant in CLA which is a fatty acid that decreases your risk of heart disease. It’s clean energy and is one of the most budget friendly cuts of meat in the world. Enjoy freely folks! I know I do!

2. Organic Haas Avocado from California

California avocados are very different then Florida avocados. I prefer the former. Avocado is the world’s greatest smoothie ingredient and goes with, well, everything. It’s chock full of vitamins and minerals. It’s full of monounsaturated fat which significantly reduces your risk of heart disease. It’s tasty on its own but goes great with lime, onion and maybe another spice or 2 for a delectable guacamole. Avocado has been my favorite plant food for well over a year and I don’t see that changing unless I move to Thailand…

3. Organic Coconut from Thailand

Organic coconut is hardly different from non organic coconut because of the hard shell. Very little, if any at all, pesticides will leak into the meat and water of coconut. I am not entirely sure why I prefer coconuts from Thailand. I guess its because they are pretty damn abundant there! I do plan on taking a trip to Thailand within the next decade as I travel around the world. MovNat does a 7 day clinic in Thailand which I plan on attending within the next 3 years.

Coconut meat and coconut water combine to create one of the world’s greatest super foods. The meat is full of medium chain fatty acids. It has incredible cleansing properties and gives you clean energy. The water is nature’s most abundant source of electrolytes which include potassium and magnesium. It’s quite tasty too! If I lived in Thailand then I would probably eat one coconut a day!

4. Wild King Crab or Snow Crab

I’ve enjoyed wild Alaskan king crab once in my entire life. You see, I used to have seafood-phobia. I had a sickening fear of all seafood. Today, I will try just about anything. My brother and I grilled king crab a few months ago. It rocked my world. I did not even need a sauce or anything for it. Cracking the shell was a primitive experience and then eating the meat was heaven. I swear I was on a different planet.

The nutrition is downright sickening. It has hardly any fat but is full of protein. If I was an abundance of money then I would enjoy king crab a few times a week at bare minimum. Even the cost now is well worth it. I think I might buy a couple legs this week!!"

Not exactly bug-out food fodder, unless you bought canned stuff, unripe avocados, and whole coconuts, but I'd give it a go at home if Hubby weren't allergic to seafood and didn't hate avocados. I could do this in a pinch, but would need help opening the coconut--I've never had a real coconut, let alone opened and ate one! I see the Thai trimmed ones in my health food store, but don't know what to do with it once I've bought it.

Last time I checked the Dirty Dozen food list, avocados didn't have to be organic. Maybe things have changed--I know they did recently for berries.

Looking at this list, it's hard to believe you can be fully nourished with this few foods, but Toad knows what he's talking about, so I believe him. I also see how you could get things like necessary DHA from crab legs--what do crabs eat? Other fish and algae--and that's where the fish get it from too. Seafood-allergic Hubby gets his from algae oil supplements.
