Primal Toad Now Down to 2 Survival Foods

From Primal Toad's Journey.

"Is it possible to live on only 2 foods? Well, for a period of time for sure. If you choose whole, healthy foods then you could probably live for a few years at bare minimum I would imagine. If you choose Cheerios and skim milk then I wish you a lot of luck…

I encourage you to leave a at my blog with your 2 survival foods. Their are no rules. A cow, deer or pig can count as one food. Or, if you want, pick grass-fed steak and bacon as your 2 foods.

My 2 Survival Foods:

Grass-Fed Beef
Wild Sweet Potatoes

Today, grass-fed beef and sweet potatoes are my go 2 foods. I would milk the cow and make butter (I never said there was a limit to tools!) and cook the organ meats in loads of butter. Grilled steak over an open fire sounds crazy awesome right now and enjoying it with fire roasted sweet potatoes smothered in butter sounds unfair.

If I were to eat all the organ meats then I could quite possibly thrive for a number of decades on this “diet.” I won’t be trying it soon but maybe I’ll experiment with just 10 foods for a full week or month."

But Todd, how can you fit a cow in a survival kit or bugout bag? Not only that, much of what you speak of is perishable--not suitable, in my opinion, for emergency food, unless you're sheltering in place.

Otherwise, with no emergency happening other than financial, this would be a great solution--limit your food purchases to grass-fed beef products (including butter), a sack of sweet potatoes, and water. All can be bought with food stamps.

My personal preference is for the 4 survival foods one--half of it is non-perishable or slow-perishable, and all of it can be bought with food stamps.

If you had to devise a steady diet and full cupboard/freezer based on Toad's recommendations, I'd go with his Top 10 Survival Foods for variety, preparation versatility, and cost containment--all are food stamp-ready, some can be had through foraging or gardening (cutting costs), some are non-perishable (enabling stock-up), and very little would have to be refrigerated or frozen. If some foods are unpalatable to you (such as the asparagus), then refer to his other survival food lists for other ideas to substitute.

When he gets down to 1 survival food, I'm going to guess that it's Soylent Green made with real vegetarians! :) You have to admit the Omega-3-to-6 ratio couldn't get any better!
