Since I started feeding my cat raw organ meats in addition to his prescribed canned food and meds, his creatinine and phosphorus have returned to normal levels, but his BUN has risen. The vet says that BUN is an indicator of dehydration, and that I should mix more water in his organ meat/prescription food combination.
Once I get the BUN down, we're home free...for a while. Go ahead and tell me why this wouldn't work for people!
